Spring Writing Classes

I hope everyone is staying sane during lockdown. I am busy writing, baking bread (I made sourdough starter and baked my first loaf of sourdough bread, which tasted good but was too dense. I’m going to try again this week with a Dutch oven), making soups (thanks to Laura Fraser’s Soup of the Day posts), playing board games with my family (our latest favorite is Wingspan), taking long walks, doing some yoga (although my knees won’t bend the way they used to), reading, watching Westworld, hosting Zoom cocktail parties and game nights, and cleaning out my basement. The kids are busy with online school, washing cars, baking cookies, doing jigsaw puzzles and science projects, reading, and attending after-school classes via Zoom.

Time to discover some new walks!

I have found that the lockdown has been a wonderful time to get writing done, so wonderful that I enrolled in two writing classes myself—one through the Grotto, where I teach. And speaking of teaching, I have two classes coming up:

The Writing Habit

Online/Asynchronous via WetInk, the Writers Grotto’s online teaching platform

Writing From Your Life

It’s the perfect time to develop a daily writing habit—whether you’re keeping a Covid Diary or writing personal essays or crafting short stories, there’s no better time to write than when you’re stuck at home unable to meet up with friends or travel or go to the gym. Join me for The Writing Habit or Writing from Your Life or both!
