Aditi, are you saying ALL those things apply to the same book?

Georgia, as someone who writes book reviews, I am happy to know that someone reads them!

I wish I cd choose more than one option - so here is why i bought/read the last book I did

I heard about it on the radio/online (and it sounded interesting to me)
I read a book review of it (and it seemed interesting to me)
It tackles a subject I am interested in it (social/environmental justice, art/illustration)
Amazon recommendations based on my purchase history
I don't think I have read anything by anyone I know yet.

I hope this skewes the balance of majority of your voting population! ;)

40% of your poll respondents say they read the last book because they knew the author!!

This must be because this is a blog by a writer for writers and at this point read by writers and their friends!! :-)

I saw Victor LaValle read from "The Big Machine" at The New School and I also really liked what he had to say during the Q and A. So I picked up "The Big Machine" and "Slapboxing With Jesus" (which I'm reading right now...it's really, really good).
