Edit Yourself, Advanced Blogging, Bay Area Book Festival, and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl

A few announcements: This week I have two classes open for registration—a six-week Advanced Blogging Workshop and a one-day Edit Yourself workshop. Also, in early June I’ll be teaching a one-day Successful Blogging class at Book Passage in Corte Madera (see below) and participating in a panel about writing communities at the Bay Area Book Festival June 7 (stay tuned for the time and location of the panel).

This week, I’m super excited to congratulate my friend Rob Kuznia (ab0ve) for winning a Pulitzer for local journalism and to see my friend Alfonso Gomez-Rejon’s (fourth from right, below) movie Me and Earl and the Dying Girl at the San Francisco Film Festival. And congrats to my good friend Jeff Sommerville for co-producing Me and Earl and the Dying Girl! Lately I’m feeling like Shirley MacLaine in Sweet Charity when she says, “Wow, this place is sure full of celebrities. I’m the only one in here I’ve never heard of.”
