Karin,

Thanks for stopping by! I used to read several books at a time, but I've stopped that, so yes, the list encourages me to finish books. I don't think it affects my choice of titles, though. I don't have much of a taste for genre fiction - mostly literary fiction, memoir, and the occasional parenting book keep me happy.

I have a friend who has been doing this for 30 years. She said she can look at a book title on her list and remember what was going on in her life at that time. It's a wonderful idea! My problem is that I tend to read several books at once and rarely finish them. Do you find that having a list encourages you to finish your books and to read quality titles?

Georgia! I am embarrassed by how few books I've read this year, although I'm in the middle of three that i hope to finish by the end of the month. My goal is two per month minimum, but that didn't happen this year.

(I love your blog!) I have tried to keep a list over the years, but I can't do it consistently. I need a list on the wall, something staring at me, to remind me. it's such an interesting project.
