Nathan Bransford posted this great vlog last week about the importance of nailing down your 200-word pitch. If you haven’t seen the video, check it out. But first, let me ask you … what is your elevator pitch? In one or two sentences, what is your book about? I need to work on mine, but if someone asked me today, I’d say, “It’s a coming-of-age memoir that takes place against the backdrop of the French modeling industry during the late 80s/early 90s.” Oh, God, that’s lame! And too short! I need to work on my pitch!
Claire Davidson is actually making marriage to Tim Fletcher work after just a few hours of knowing each other – but the old adage “marry in haste, repent at leisure” may mean a lifetime of regret if he discovers her Dank Dark Secret.
Oh, that's GOOD! I want to read it! Is this what you're workshopping right now, or your other book?
Nah I haven't workshopped this yet. Want to read? Well, if you can squeeze it in…I know you have CASH priorities right now!
I'd be happy to read it after I finish my revision! Right now I have trouble finding time to shower 🙂
ahhh i need to work on my elevator pitch TOO.
i'm sure i'll need to give it at one point or another. lol.
best of luck to you with all of your writing!
T.H. Thanks for stopping by, and I love your blog! I'll be right over to read more.
